Navigating multicancer early detection

Challenge

Response and Impact

Tapestry engaged diverse stakeholders to understand challenges facing MCED adoption and identify approaches for overcoming those challenges. This work laid the foundation for a new independent organization—the MCED Consortium—to address these issues on a long-term basis. Tapestry and collaborators co-designed a Consortium Blueprint that outlined the mission, scope, objectives, governance structure, operating model, and multiyear work plans and deliverables for the new organization. The Consortium launched as an independent entity in 2021.

Evaluating digital health

Challenge

Response and Impact

Tapestry produced a multistakeholder market analysis on the challenges and opportunities for high-value DHTs. The analysis helped to inform the establishment of a new independent DHT evaluation entity, the Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI).

Additionally, Tapestry partnered with PHTI to recruit senior payer leadership for the PHTI Purchaser Advisory Council, thereby helping PHTI secure credible partners ahead of launch. PHTI is now working to reshape the evidence landscape for DHTs.

Setting standards for diagnostic AI

Challenge

Response and Impact

The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (GBMF) partnered with Tapestry to engage payers, clinicians, and others and produce a landscape analysis on quality advancement in diagnostic AI.

Additionally, stakeholders provided candid feedback on pilot projects being considered for funding. GBMF subsequently established a national coordinating center at UC San Francisco to guide implementation of these pilots.

Advancing shared value in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

Challenge

Response and Impact

Tapestry, together with payers, clinicians, and others coauthored a payer-provider framework published in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology to establish a shared vision for value-based care (VBC) in IBD as a foundational guidepost for the community. The framework continues to be cited by diverse IBD leaders. Tapestry and the effort’s participants then initiated a deep-dive assessment on enabling timely access to treatment by evolving prior authorization processes, which many identified as a key issue for the subspecialty.
