Jason Watkins

Managing Director

Jason Watkins is managing director and general counsel with Tapestry Networks and heads the firm’s board governance practice. He works with public company directors and other stakeholders in tackling the challenges of modern corporate oversight, from cutting-edge issues of governance to the fundamentals of board practice. Jason brings a wealth of experience – in law, consulting, and regulatory compliance – to the project of solving problems through the power of connected thinking.

Having practiced bankruptcy law in the wake of the dot-com bust and through the financial crisis, Jason is a seasoned veteran of the “what went wrong” industry. He has also been a direct witness to the management and governance of high-functioning organizations large and small.

Before joining Tapestry, Jason served as a commercial finance and bankruptcy partner at a large law firm, as regulatory counsel at a global bank, and as a compliance consultant at an independent monitoring boutique. Before law school, he served four years as an officer in the US Navy, including a deployment to the Persian Gulf on a guided missile destroyer.

Jason holds a JD from Harvard Law School and an AB in government from Harvard College. He lives with his six bicycles in the western suburbs of Boston, in a house that they share with Jason’s wife and three children.
