Biography
George Goldsmith
Chair and Founder
George is an entrepreneur dedicated to bringing about positive change in society with particular focus on health and wellbeing.
George’s early training and experience combined cognitive psychology, clinical psychology, and computer science. His first company, The Human Interface Group, was a pioneer in collaborative software. In the late 1990s George created TomorrowLab, which provided strategic guidance to businesses seeking to embrace the internet; he joined McKinsey & Company as CEO of TomorrowLab@McKinsey. As a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and its International board of directors, George founded YPO Networks, and in 2002 he launched Tapestry Networks, a company committed to improving leadership performance and governance effectiveness. He still serves as Tapestry Networks’ non-executive chair.
George and his wife Ekaterina Malievskaia co-founded Compass Pathways in 2016 in the aftermath of their son’s mental health crisis, which brought into sharp and personal focus the failures of current approaches to mental health care. George and Ekaterina built Compass to discover new medicines and better ways to deliver mental health care solutions. They took Compass public on Nasdaq in 3 years from seed funding; it is now the leading mental health care company dedicated to accelerating patient access to evidence-based innovation in mental health.
After leaving Compass’ board and management in 2024, George and Ekaterina are currently launching two new companies to continue their commitment to evidence-based innovation in mental health and wellbeing.
