Jason Watkins

Managing Director

Jason Watkins is a managing director with Tapestry Networks and heads the board governance practice. He works with public company directors and other stakeholders in tackling the challenges of modern corporate oversight, from cutting-edge issues of governance to the fundamentals of board practice. Jason brings a wealth of experience – in law, consulting, and regulatory compliance – to the project of solving problems through the power of connected thinking.

Having practiced bankruptcy in the wake of the dot-com bust and through the financial crisis, Jason is a seasoned veteran of the “what went wrong” industry. He has also been a direct witness to the management and governance of high-functioning organizations large and small.

Before joining Tapestry, Jason served as a commercial finance and bankruptcy partner at a large law firm, as regulatory counsel at a global custody bank, and as a compliance consultant at an independent monitoring boutique. Before law school, he served four years as an officer in the US Navy, including a deployment to the Persian Gulf on a guided missile destroyer.

Jason holds a JD from Harvard Law School and an AB in government from Harvard College. He lives with his six bicycles in the western suburbs of Boston, in a house that they share with Jason’s wife and three children.
