Tom Woods

Tom Woods has been a non-executive director at Bank of America since 216, serving on the corporate governance, ESG, and sustainability committee and the enterprise risk committee.

Tom spent his entire career at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and its predecessor firm Wood Gundy, starting in investment banking. He served as the head of CIBC’s Canadian corporate banking division, group CFO, group CRO, and retired as vice chair in 214.

Tom also serves on the boards of Merrill Lynch International, Bank of America’s UK broker dealer subsidiary; Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), a Canadian institutional investment fund manager; and the investment advisory committee of Cordiant Capital Inc., a fund manager specializing in emerging markets; and serves on the board of advisors for the University of Toronto’s department of mechanical and industrial engineering and the board of St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation. He is a previous member of the boards of Hydro One Limited; TMX Group Inc., a stock exchange and financial services company; and Jarislowsky Fraser, an institutional fund manager; and Dominion Bond Rating Service. He has a BASc (industrial engineering) from University of Toronto and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
