Executive Experience:  Steven G. (Steve) Elliott is the retired senior vice chairman of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, an investment management and investment servicing company. He served in that position from 1998 until his retirement in December 21. Steve joined Mellon in 1987 as executive vice president and head of the finance department. He was named chief financial officer in 199, vice chairman in 1992, and senior vice chairman in 1998. Before joining Mellon, he had held senior officer positions at First Commerce Corporation, New Orleans (chief financial officer); Crocker National Bank, San Francisco (corporate controller); Continental Illinois National Bank, Chicago (senior vice president – management accounting); and United California Bank (corporate controller).

Additional information: Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in business administration (distinguished scholar) from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a certified public accountant (inactive).
