Patrick Tannock

Patrick Tannock retired as chief executive officer of AXA XL Bermuda (“XLB”) insurance operations in June 2024, where he was responsible for strategic direction, underwriting profitability, and leadership of AXA XL’s Bermuda insurance operations.

Patrick has more than 30 years of experience in the international insurance and reinsurance industry.

Prior to joining XLB, he served as executive vice president of ACE Bermuda (now Chubb) as well as chief underwriting officer and director of the company’s specialist directors and officers subsidiary, Corporate Officers & Directors Assurance Ltd. (CODA). He also held senior brokerage positions with Marsh & McLennan Bermuda prior to joining ACE.

Patrick is currently chair of the Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC). He was appointed to the position in January 2015. Patrick is vice chair on BermudaFirst and is a member of the executive committee. He is also a member of the Bermuda government economic advisory committee, a non-executive director of Fidelity International (FIL) board, and a founding member of the Financial Intelligence Agency board.

Patrick has also served as a member of the Outstanding Directors Advisory board, former co-chair of the Bermuda PLUS (Professional Liability Underwriting Society) conference, former member of the Bermuda hospitals board, former member of the Bermuda government’s board of education, and former member of the Butterfield Bank board.
