Mariella Röhm-Kottmann

Executive experience: Mariella has been serving as Group CFO and member of the Executive Committee at Sunlight Group since 2024. In this role, she is responsible for the full finance function, including accounting, controlling, treasury, tax, M&A, ESG, risk management, and internal controls. Her focus has been on strengthening reporting processes, supporting post-merger integration, and advancing the finance organization in general. This includes the setup of a controlling function with performance KPIs and forecasting tools to enhance financial steering.

From 2016 to 2024, she was Senior Vice President Finance at ZF Friedrichshafen AG. Her responsibilities included global accounting and consolidation, internal and external reporting, shared services, and ESG reporting. She led finance transformation projects, supported the integration of major acquisitions, and built group-wide finance governance structures.

Previously, Mariella was an audit partner at KPMG Germany. During that tenure, she headed KPMG’s board services and co-chaired KPMG’s Audit committee Institute. She was also responsible for auditing and advising international companies and corporations listed in the DAX and M-DAX from various industries. In addition, she led the venture capital activities within KPMG’s private equity network in Germany

Additional information: Mariella has studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and is a German Tax Advisor and a German Chartered Accountant. She is co-author of Beck’scher Bilanzkommentar and has served as Regional Head of Financial Expert Association Bodenseekreis and deputy chairwoman of parents’ council Schule Schloss Salem. She is also acting as practice representative at the University of St. Gallen. Mariella is married and has two sons.
