Executive Experience: Lynne Doughtie is retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of KPMG LLP — one of the world’s leading professional services firms providing tax, audit and advisory services to many of the world’s most iconic companies.

Lynne held national, regional, and global leadership roles throughout her more than 35 years with KPMG. During her tenure (2015-2020) as Chairman and CEO, KPMG experienced strong growth and made significant investments in its people and culture including the firm’s state-of-the-art learning, development and innovation facility called KPMG Lakehouse. Lynne appointed the firm’s first Chief Culture Officer to renew and strengthen the firm’s focus on values and culture. She helped accelerate the advancement of women through initiatives such as the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, which is focused on moving more women into the C-suite, and the KPMG Future Leaders Program, which provides college scholarships and mentoring to the next generation of talented young women. Under Lynne’s leadership, KPMG earned a spot every year on FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work for” list and reached the Top 10 in her final year as CEO.

In recognition of her professional accomplishments, Lynne has received numerous accolades including Fortune’s Most Powerful Women, Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People, the National Association of Corporate Directors’ 100 most influential people in the boardroom, and Glassdoor’s list of Top CEOs. She also received the National Association of Female Executives’ “Woman of Achievement” award and the Concordia Leadership Award.

Since retiring from KPMG, Lynne joined the Boards of Directors of The Boeing Company and Workday. She also lends her time and expertise to a number of civic and charitable organizations, including chairing the Board of the LUNGevity Foundation.

Additional information: Lynne received her Bachelor of Science in accounting from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business.  A proud Hokie, she remains an active alumnus and serves on several of its Advisory Boards. She received the University’s Distinguished Achievement Award in 2018.

Lynne is a native of Richmond, Virginia where she and her family continue to reside.
