Julie Royalty obtained extensive experience in provider practice administration prior to her tenure at HUMANA. In her 2+ years at HUMANA, she has held a variety of roles and is sought out on a regular basis for her expertise in provider engagement and innovative contracting. She has extensive expertise in identifying treatment variations, trends and developing solutions that serve the needs of HUMANA’s business while also serving the needs of practicing providers and members. She successfully implemented an innovative radiation oncology payment initiative with one of the nation’s largest radiation oncology providers and presented this initiative to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). She also developed and implemented oncology and lab fee schedules nationwide that support high value care. Julie is recognized internally and externally as an industry leader.

In her current role, Director of Strategic Industry Insights, she has designed a leading initiative, the Oncology Model of Care. This initiative provides additional dollars for enhanced care coordination for our members to practices that demonstrate their commitment to measurable improvement in quality, cost and member experience. She has been co-author for publications in oncology journals, created posters for professional associations that were chosen for presentation and well respected among the nation’s most recognized oncology providers. Her work has been acknowledged in the press as well as by professional associations.

Julie is always focused on what is next. Our industry is ever changing and in order to stay contemporary in our designs, believes that we are never finished and need to continually ask ourselves if what we have in place continues to positively and effectively impact quality, cost and member experience, or if we need to enhance our current designs. Her passion is clearly in the what is next and the opportunity to effectively influence positive change. When Julie is not working, she spends as much time as possible with her rescue horses and other animals on her farm in Ohio.
