Joseph Couto

Joe is the Senior Director of Specialty Program Evaluation and Outcomes for CVS Health, developing research and insights to evaluate and improve specialty drug and care management products. Prior to CVS Health, Joe was a data science senior manager at Cigna Healthcare, where he developed research to support total cost of care formulary management strategies and designed value based contracts in collaboration with pharmaceutical manufacturers. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration degrees from SUNY Buffalo, and completed a research fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. Joe is the current chair of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy’s Joint Research Committee, is on the Editorial Board of American Health & Drug Benefits and serves on the Specialty Board of the Pharmacist’s Letter/Prescriber’s Letter.
