John Lister is an experienced finance professional with over 30 years’ experience in the insurance and asset management business. Before his retirement from Aviva in 2016 he was the CFO for its life business, having previously been the group CRO. He is currently chair of Phoenix’s Life Companies board, chairs the risk committee for Old Mutual Ltd in South Africa and the audit and risk committee of Saga SSL. He is a qualified actuary, married with four grown children, and lives in York and London.
