Executive Experience: John previously was the president and chief operating officer of ConocoPhillips prior to his retirement in 211, and before that the chief financial officer of ConocoPhillips and of Phillips Petroleum Company prior to its merger with Conoco.

Additional information: John received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University (New Jersey), a JD degree from Temple University (Pennsylvania), and a graduate tax law degree from the New York University School of Law.

He is a member of the Council of Overseers for the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management, Rice University and serves on the boards of the Alley Theatre and the British American Foundation of Texas.
