Executive Experience: Hilliard Terry previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Textainer Group Holdings Limited (NYSE: TGH). He led the company’s finance organization which included accounting, treasury, investor relations, financial planning & analysis, credit, and risk management. Hilliard also served on the company’s executive management, credit, human resources, and capital investment committees. During his tenure at the company, he executed more than $1 billion in financings in a capital-intensive business. 

Previously, he was vice president and treasurer of Agilent Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: A) where he managed the company’s global treasury organization, with activities and personnel in the US, Singapore, and China. He also oversaw the company’s domestic and European pension plans. Hilliard also served as the head of Investor Relations during the spin-off and launch of the company. He joined Agilent Technologies in 1999 and worked on company’s initial public offering and spin-off from the former Hewlett-Packard Company. Prior to Agilent, he worked as a global marketing executive at HP’s VeriFone subsidiary managing strategic partnerships with electronic payment companies. He also managed investor relations for the company prior to the HP acquisition and previously worked in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co.  

Hilliard currently serves on the board of directors of Umpqua Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: UMPQ), a financial services company and on the board of its principal subsidiary, Umpqua Bank. He is currently chair of the audit and compliance committee and serves on the finance and capital, governance and executive committees. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors of a private/pre-IPO fintech company focused on using artificial intelligence and machine learning to price and automate the borrowing process. Hilliard is active in his local community where he currently serves on the board of directors of Sequoyah Country Club and previously on the board of trustees of the Oakland Museum of California.

Additional information: Hilliard received his BA degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Golden Gate University.
