Herman E. Bulls

Herman E. Bulls is vice chair, Americas of JLL, Inc., the international commercial real estate firm and founder of JLL’s public institutions group. During over 31 years at JLL, Herman has worked in the areas of development, investment management, asset management, facilities operations, and business development/retention. Working across the firm’s platform, he provides thought leadership, strategic guidance, and perspective to senior level executives for improving organizational performance through real estate. Herman devises and implements integrated strategies which lower occupancy costs, increase productivity, and maximize value.

Prior to joining JLL, Herman completed 12 years of active duty service with the United States Army. He retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves in 28.

Herman received a BS degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA in finance from Harvard Business School. Herman serves on the boards of USAA, Comfort Systems USA, The American Red Cross, The West Point Association of Graduates, the Real Estate Advisory Committee for New York Teachers’ Retirement System, and The Military Bowl. He is a former chair of the Executive Leadership Foundation. He is also a member of Leadership Washington, the Urban Land Institute, and a founding member of the African American Real Estate Professionals (AAREP). Herman’s former boards include Tyco, CSC, Exelis, and Rasmussen.

Herman’s awards include the National Association of Corporate Directors Top 1 Directors, Top Blacks in Corporate America and Most Influential Black Directors, Savoy Magazine.
