Hanna K. Sanoff

Hanna is an associate professor of medicine, Medical Director of the
UNC North Carolina Cancer Hospital Outpatient Clinics, and the
Section Chief of GI Medical Oncology at the University of North
Carolina in Chapel Hill. Hanna is an integral part of the operational
leadership of the NC Cancer Hospital where she partners with health
system leadership to improve the quality and value of care delivered to
cancer patients across the UNC Cancer Network. Hanna co-leads the
UNC Health Care Oncology Value-Based Strategic Planning Initiative
and is a member of the Department of Medicine Value-Based Care
Action Group.
Hanna is a practicing GI medical oncologist and a clinical researcher.
She has conducted health services research using large scale
administrative claims data to evaluate the quality of cancer care
delivery and the effectiveness of cancer treatments in real-world
population-based samples. She is also an active clinical trialist and
serves on the GI Committee of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in
Oncology and is a member of the National Cancer Institute’s Colon
Cancer Task Force.
Hanna received her undergraduate degree from Williams College and
her MD from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed residency,
medical oncology fellowship, and a master’s in public health at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
