Cathy Lego
Non-Executive Director
Cirrus Logic, Guidewire Software, and Lam Research
Cathy Lego brings over 35 years of venture investing and private and public board experience to technology focused companies. She has worked with companies from raw startups to $1 billion in revenue and advises them on ways to scale both organically and through acquisitions. As a board member she has overseen special investigations, leadership transitions, and multiple merger and acquisition transactions.
In the 198s, she was a partner at Oak Investment Partners, and then in 1992, she started her own angel venture fund called Lego Ventures, LLC. In 1999 she raised The Photonics Fund from JDS Uniphase and focused on the optoelectronics sector. Both funds have been fully distributed and closed. She began her career at Coopers and Lybrand where she was a certified public accountant on the audit staff.
Until recently, Cathy was a non-executive director on the board of Cypress Semiconductor. Her prior board experience includes Fairchild Semiconductor International, Fortel Inc, SanDisk Corp, Viavi Solutions, and WJ Communications Inc.
Cathy is a member of several roundtables for audit and compensation committee chairs and is a member of the NACD Audit Committee Chair Advisory Council. She is on the leadership council of the Stanford University Rock Center’s Silicon Valley Directors’ Exchange (SVDX) and is a frequent speaker at its Directors’ College. In 215 she was a recipient of the NACD Directors 1 award.
Cathy holds a BA in economics and biology from Williams College and an MS in accounting from the NYU Stern School of Business.
