Executive Experience: Bruce retired from CenturyTel, Inc., now CenturyLink, after 2+ years. He held various senior level management positions including executive vice president and chief operating officer, senior vice president – corporate development, and strategy, president – telecommunications services, senior vice president and chief financial officer, chief administrative officer, and senior vice president – revenues and external affairs.

Early in his career he worked at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co (now known as KPMG), a national CPA firm. He has previously served on the board of directors of Brooks Fiber Company, the National Exchange Carriers Association, the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association, National Rural Telecom Association, MobiLink, and American Horizons Bank. He served on the executive advisory committee of the Institute of Public Utilities and several other telecommunications industry committees. Bruce currently serves as a financial consultant for the financial planning and investment management firm of Graham, Bordelon and Company.

Additional information: Bruce left CenturyTel, Inc. to serve as the director of athletics at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, his alma mater. He served in that role from 21 until 24 leaving to maintain his independent status as a director at CenturyTel, Inc. Bruce has served in several community service roles, including as a board member of the United Way of Northeast Louisiana; board member of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Foundation; president of the University of Louisiana at Monroe Foundation; and University of Louisiana at Monroe’s strategic planning committee, among others. Bruce received his BBA with a major in accounting and his MBA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and is a member of the Louisiana State Society of CPAs.
