Executive experience: R. Brad Martin is chair of RBM Ventures, chair & CEO of Riverview Acquisition Co., and retired chair and CEO of Saks Incorporated.

Brad served as CEO of Saks and its predecessor firm for nearly 20 years, during which the company grew from a ten-store base in East Tennessee to become a Fortune 500 enterprise. During his tenure, the value of the company’s stock increased more than 12-fold.

Brad serves on the board of directors of FedEx Corporation and Pilot/Flying J, and has previously served as a director of Gaylord, Dillard’s, and Lululemon.

Additional information: He graduated from the University of Memphis where he served as president of the student body and earned an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Brad returned to the University of Memphis for the 2013-2014 academic year serving as its interim president.

He served five terms as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives and holds the distinction of being the youngest person ever elected to the Tennessee legislature.

Brad is involved in a number of philanthropic activities and is the founder of Hope 2 Hire, a pre-release job training program for individuals incarcerated at the Shelby County Corrections Center.

He is the co-author of the book, Five Stones: Conquering Your Giants, and author of the children’s book, Myles’ Pesky Friends.
