Executive experience: William G. Smith, Jr., is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Capital City Bank Group, Inc., and chairman of the board of Capital City Bank where he has worked since 1978 in numerous capacities.
Additional information: Bill is currently a member of the board of directors of Capital City Bank; First National Bankers Bank; The Florida State University Athletic Board, and Darlington School.
Bill attended Darlington School in Rome, Georgia, and graduated in 1972 with the Faculty Medal for General Excellence. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from The Florida State University in 1976. He was inducted to the FSU College of Business Hall of Fame in 29.
