Bertram Scott

Bertram Scott has been a director since March 219. Bert is the 219-21 chairman of the board of the American Heart Association. Bert was senior vice president of population health of Novant Health, Inc. from February 215 to May 219. From November 212 through December 214, Bert served as president and chief executive officer of Affinity Health Plan. From June 21 to December 211, Bert served as president, US Commercial of CIGNA Corporation. Prior thereto, he served as executive vice president of TIAA-CREF from 2 to June 21 and as president and chief executive officer of TIAA-CREF Life Insurance Company from 2 to 27. Bert is currently a member of the board of directors of Becton, Dickinson and Company and Lowe’s Companies, Inc. Bert is also a director of Equitable America since May 212, and a director of Equitable since March 219. He is also a director of AllianceBernstein Corporation since September 22.

Bert brings to the board expertise as an audit committee financial expert, and strong strategic and operational expertise acquired through the variety of executive roles, including insurance industry and financial services experience, and experience as a board member of public companies.
