Executive Experience: Art Garcia is a transformational leader with extensive experience leading finance operations, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, accounting, and regulatory compliance at a Fortune 500 company. He also brings experience directing corporate restructurings, evaluating and integrating acquisitions, and reengineering finance operations to maximize performance and service quality. He has public and private capital market expertise with a proven record of cost-effective capital allocation and is a board member with audit and enterprise risk committee experience.
As the former executive vice president and chief financial officer at Ryder System, a $7 billion global leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions, he was a key member of an executive team that established a new business model and implemented strategies to revitalize growth and improve profitability. He led a company-wide restructuring and implemented tax planning strategies that generated savings of more than $1 million each. He also completed and managed financial integration of 12 acquisitions, capturing targeted growth and cost synergy objectives.
As Ryder’s CFO, Art also implemented an efficient global pension plan management strategy, reengineered finance operations to improve efficiency and business forecasting, and was part of the leadership team that managed customer contract negotiations, dispute resolutions, and operational remediation activities.
Art started his career at Coopers & Lybrand, rising to the position of senior manager of business assurance, where he planned, supervised, and administered audit and non-audit engagements, including M&A analysis and integration, negotiating credit agreements, and developing restructuring and reorganization plans.
