Ann Hackett

Executive experience: Ann Fritz Hackett is a partner and co-founder of Personal Pathways, LLC. The company’s flagship product, EffectiveTeamsTM, is a web based enterprise collaboration platform that provides systematic insights about one another’s full capabilities, strengths, and experiences to better support the kind of complex problem solving required in today’s distributed workplace. It enables a company to drive the economics of a business through people in a differentiated way.

Previously, Ann had been president of Horizon Consulting Group, LLC, which she founded in 1996. She has more than 3 years’ experience developing and leading critical strategic and human capital initiatives. Ann has worked with boards and senior executives globally to identify strategic opportunities and execute solutions during periods of business and financial challenges and transformation. She has spent significant time living and working overseas, primarily in Europe and Africa.

Prior to Horizon Consulting Group, Ann was a senior partner of Strategic Planning Associates, Inc. where she was part of the strategy practice, served on the management committee, and led human resources globally.

Ann’s current board directorships include Capital One Financial Corporation, where she serves as the lead director and chair of the governance and nominating committee, and Fortune Brands Home & Security, where she chairs the compensation committee. She previously served on the boards of Fortune Brands, Inc. and Beam, Inc. 

Additional information: Ann served on the Dartmouth College board of trustees for 12 years and is currently a trustee of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. She has also served on other non-profit boards in the community.

In addition to her business career, Ann is the author of a fictional novel, Where the White Oak Speaks (Acorn Press, 21).

Ann earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics summa cum laude from Dartmouth College where she was recognized with the Young Alumni Award in 1992 and in 24 became the first alumna to receive the Alumni Award. She received her MBA from Stanford University where she was distinguished as an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Ann and her husband reside in McLean, Virginia and have three grown children.
