Executive Experience: Al Zollar is an executive partner with SIRIS Capital Group, LLC since February 214. Al retired from IBM in January 211 following a successful 34-year career.
Al was formerly general manager of IBM Tivoli Software from July 24 until January 211, where he was responsible for the executive leadership, strategy, and P&L of the Tivoli brand, a global, multi-billion-dollar business within IBM’s $2B+ Software business. Previously, Al was general manager, IBM iSeries, where he was responsible for the executive leadership, strategy, and P&L of the iSeries (formerly AS/4) server product line. Before that he held senior management positions in each of IBM’s diverse software businesses, including general manager of IBM Lotus Software. Al has been issued US Patent # 8,261,329 B2, “Trust and Identity in Secure Calendar Sharing Collaboration.”
Additional information: Al is a board member of three private companies in the SIRIS portfolio: Stratus Technologies, Pulse Secure, and EFI. He is also member of the Executive Leadership Council, a Lifetime Member of the National Society of Black Engineers, and a 211 Fellow of the Advanced Leadership Initiative at Harvard University.
Al holds a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California at San Diego, where in 211 he was named one of 5 distinguished alumni of the university. He spends his free time with his family and friends, reading, playing golf, and listening to jazz.
