Corporate Governance Networks

For over five years, Tapestry Networks has been bringing together independent directors of some of the largest North American and European public companies to improve the performance of the boards and board committees and enhance trust in the capital markets.

Over 200 directors from Fortune 500 and equivalent companies have participated in private network meetings with their peers over this period. Their collective insights – on a broad range of topics, including financial reporting, risk management, executive compensation, independent board leadership, and shareholder communications – are made publicly available to stimulate timely, substantive board and management discussions. The more board members, management, and advisers who become systematically engaged in these dialogues, the more value will be created for all.

Corporate governance networks produced by Tapestry currently include:

Audit Committee Networks
The audit profession and corporate boardrooms are undergoing significant transformation in the wake of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and new compliance regulations. Responsibility for audit function oversight has shifted from corporate management to the audit committee of the board of directors. In response, "Big Four" accounting firm Ernst & Young sponsored and Tapestry Networks produced an Audit Committee Leadership Networks in North America and Europe, and the regional Audit Committee Networks across the United States. Their purpose: To promote positive change in corporate governance, improving the performance of audit committees and enhancing trust in financial markets.

Compensation Committee Leadership Network
The Compensation Committee Leadership Network (CCLN) brings together a select group of compensation committee chairs from North America's leading companies for private discussions about how to improve the performance of their corporations and earn the trust of their shareholders through more effective compensation committee work. Tapestry Networks produces the CCLN, orchestrates the discussions and works to ensure that they lead to enduring impact. Meridan Compensation Partners provides executive compensation expertise; two of its leaders participate as members.

Lead Director Network
The Lead Director Network (LDN) brings together a select group of up to 20 lead directors, presiding directors, and non-executive chairmen of Fortune 500 companies for private discussions about how to improve the performance of their corporations and earn the trust of their shareholders through more effective board leadership. Sponsored by King & Spalding and convened by Tapestry Networks, the LDN meets three times a year in the United States.
